Simple Songs
From our curriculum, First Steps for Infants and Toddlers: "These songs have a limited tonal range and will likely be among the first songs the child will attempt to sing."
At this age, children are not expected to sing, although some do. Rather, repeating simple songs in your own voice, no matter if you think you can "sing" or not, has been shown to help children vocalize and learn speech sooner. Children are more likely to imitate a human voice than a video or recording and more likely to imitate a family member than others. So keep singing with your baby! Ms. Tonya believes everyone can sing anyway.
